Afternoon Tea
From Thursday to Saturday, 4pm to 6pm, reservation only
This English tradition was invented around 1840 by the seventh Duchess of Bedford, Anna Russell, a close friend of Queen Victoria. She found the time between lunch and dinner too long, and asked to be served tea with a few snacks. Delighted with this gourmet break, she shared her idea with her friends. Little by little the tradition was established among the Lords and the Ladies, then gradually seduced the middle class.
